Most amplifiers on shelves today are marketed with numbers measured under ideal lab conditions — optimistic test frequencies, burst measurements, and load tolerances that no real install will ever replicate.   • 01 — Remote Level Control: Surface or flush mount. Keep cable away from power wires and moving parts.
  • 02 — Clipping LEDs: Faint glow = 1–2% THD warning. Fully lit = 7%+ THD. Reduce gain immediately.
  • 03 — Bass Boost: 0–18 dB @ 45 Hz. Re-adjust Input Gain after any Bass Boost change.
  • 04 — Subsonic Filter: 10–50 Hz safety cutoff. Use the 75% rule: tuning freq × 0.75 = filter point.
  • 05 — Low-Pass (LP) Filter: 50–250 Hz. Recommended 80–100 Hz for most subwoofer setups.
  • 06 — Phase Switch: 0° (standard) or 180° (reversed). Choose whichever produces the fullest bass.
  • 07 — Input Gain: Not a volume control. Matches head unit output to amp input. Set with Clipping LED method.
  • 08 — RCA Inputs: Balanced inputs reject common-mode interference (alternator whine, etc.).
  • 09 — Speaker Terminals: 16–8 AWG. Loosen → strip ½" → insert fully → tighten.
  • 10 — +12V Terminal: Up to 4 AWG. Run direct to battery. Fuse within 18" (457 mm) of battery.
  • 11 — Remote Turn-On: Switched +12V source. Head unit blue/white wire or any ignition-switched circuit.
  • 12 — Ground: Same gauge as +12V. Short as possible to bare chassis metal. Use a star washer.
Gain Setting Method
Set head unit ~75% → raise gain slowly → back off the instant the Clipping LED flashes → never leave LED on during normal playback.
Warning
Always configure the Subsonic Filter before playing music. Unfiltered ultra-low frequencies will destroy subwoofer voice coils.
